Along with my global zoom (see other topic), I need a shot of the lead singer driving, shot through the windscreen. Hiring a trailer to bung the car on and a van to pull it is quite easy. What isn't is sorting out a vehicle mount for the camera.
*Has anyone used these before?
*Can someone recommend one and/or a place to buy/hire from?
*How stable was the footage?
*Will it leave big nasty marks on the car?
*How likely are they to fall off, thus smashing a hired Sony PD-150 that I can't afford to replace?
*How fast can we drive with one attached to the car?
Most specifically, has anyone used a "Sticky Pod" mount before and can I buy/hire one in the UK without having to go directly to the bloke that makes them in the US?

go here

scroll down for the pro ones
Any decent rental place will have the pro ones with the 2 or 3 suction pads. I would be incredibly shocked if they didnt hold on regardless how fast you went so as long as you put them on properly you shouldnt worry.
How steady are the shots?? Well its attached to the car init. There fore the only movement is of the guys inside the window as they wobble over the bumps.

?400 is a bit much for me, but I think the ?150 two-cup one'd do me. At that price, sod hiring, I can probably buy one!
